About relief supplies

Q: Which kind of relief supplies are needed right now?

A: Please check the “About relief supplies” section on the SAVE IWATE homepage.

Generally, donations of everyday consumption goods (e.g. food and water)

are always welcome as we are in constant need of said products.

If you are uncertain about donating, please feel free to contact us.

 

Q: Do you accept donations from individuals?

A: Yes, we gladly accept your donation.

You can either deliver your donation directly or send it via courier or mail service.

 

Q: How will my goods be delivered to the victims?

A: (1) Consumption goods (e.g. food and water) will personally be given to those in need,

who evacuated to Morioka and its perimeter.

(2) All other goods will be collected until we receive a request for a certain good,

which will then be delivered to the requesting area.

 

Q: Do you accept large donations from organizations, companies, etc.?

A: In this case, please contact us by mail or phone first.

Q: Until when do you accept donations?

A: Consumption goods (e.g. food and water) and other everyday goods are always welcome and

will be accepted at any time.

Right now we are not looking for other commodities.

 

Q: What should I do with supplies I gathered but that are no longer required?

A: Since there is a chance that certain goods might be needed again, please hold onto them if possible.

 

Q: Can I bring my collected supplies directly to your office or do you want me to send them to you?

A: Either way is fine. We accept goods that are brought in directly as well as those delivered to us.

(We would appreciate if you could specify the delivery hours for couriers, etc. )

 

Q: Do you accept used goods as well?

A: Unfortunately we only accept new goods.

 

Q: What should I do in case I want to receive supplies from SAVE IWATE?

A: Right now, we are providing supplies only to those who evacuated from the affected areas,

are in need of support. Furthermore, provisions are limited do daily necessities.

If you require provisions, please come see us at the “Morioka Fukkoushien Center”

(Morioka Reconstruction Aid Center) once.

We will listen to your request and start providing assistance on our own judgement.

About volunteering

Q: How can I take part in volunteer activities?

A: For information on volunteering, please check the “About accepting VOLUNTEERS” section on our homepage.

 

About monetary donations

Q: Do you accept monetary donations?

A: Right now, we are only accepting donations to support our activities.

This includes:

-Gasoline costs for transportation of goods and/or volunteers

-Costs for replacing missing provisions or supplementing.

-Costs to pay for materials used in activities organised by SAVE IWATE to help victims.
